Why Microbiome?
Billions.
That’s right, perhaps even trillions. That’s how many living organisms are on your face right now.
Small in size, mighty in power.
We use the term ‘microbiome’ a lot here at B&B Labs, and we get a lot of customers asking what it means. We can go really scientific in our explanation if we wanted to, but that will just bore you. So let’s use a fun analogy!
The long answer: Your skin is a friendly neighbourhood, or a kampung, as we say in Malaysia.
Just like how every neighbourhood has different people living in it, your skin has a natural colony of bacteria living on it too, and like any kampung, there are the good guys and the bad guys.
The bad bacteria will always be present, so it is the good bacteria’s responsibility to keep them in check, just like the rukun tetangga (neighbourhood watch).
The good microbes are important for keeping your skin happy and healthy. They never stop working together in harmony, to protect your skin from unwanted guests and help keep it in balance, making sure everything is running smoothly in your skin’s neighbourhood.
They make up the majority of your skin's barrier, regulate immune responses, and influence overall skin health. Naked to the human eye, but superior in every way.
The short answer: A natural colony of bacteria that lives on your skin.
Be a responsible host.
We know what you might be thinking.
“What is so important about my microbiome and why should I care?”
You would not simply litter or pollute our natural environment, would you? That would simply cause harm to planet Earth and damage the quality of life of everyone living here.
Poor environment = Poor health
The same concept applies to your microbiome, because as we mentioned before, it is your personal living colony of bacteria that protects your skin. The good bacteria works all-day to protect you (without a pay wage), so it is your responsibility to take good care of them.
The bad news.
Truthfully, many skincare products on the market can damage the natural environment of your skin, which harms your microbiome, making it hard for good bacteria to thrive.
That is why we created our E-Cology Plus+ botanical complex of prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics, aimed to sustain and strengthen your microbiome so your skin can be happier and healthier. Unleash your skin microbiome’s full potential with B&B Labs today!
